About this view

Gyeongbokgung was the main palace of the Joseon dynasty, first built in 1395 and rebuilt several times after fire and occupation. It sits at the top of Sejongno with Bugaksan rising directly behind it, and the changing of the guard takes place at the main gate through the day. It is the largest of Seoul's five palaces and the usual starting point for visitors.

The guard ceremony runs at set times during opening hours. The palace closes on Tuesdays.
