Busan is the second largest city in South Korea and its main port, built along the southeastern coast where the mountains meet the sea. The beaches are the reason most people come: Haeundae is the best known, Gwangalli faces the lit Gwangan Bridge across the bay, and Songjeong further east is where the surfers go. Summer here runs hot and the beaches fill through July and August. Busan is about two and a half hours from Seoul by high speed train.
